A CASE STUDY

In 2017 the Australian agency Youthinc, originally established as an employment broker for disengaged young people, decided to become a formally recognised school, Youthinc Enterprise Academy (youthinc.org.au). In 2018 the organisation contracted Edgeware to train three of its staff as ‘Powered by Edgeware’ trainers, and bought a paid-up licence to use the Edgeware toolset. With Edgeware’s assistance, the training was mapped to the formal qualification BSB30315 Certificate III in Micro Business Operations. From the point of view of the school, and most importantly its students, this is radically project-based education, highly flexible and grounded in practical work of direct relevance and interest to learners. The resulting program will become core curriculum for the school from late 2018 onwards.

This project is taking place in the domain of education. Similar programs are under way in community services, executive coaching practices and Not For Profit enterprise. True to brand, these can be customised to particular circumstances.
